We are in the last of the last days and we are seeing the collapse of the economies of many nations of the world. People are loosing their jobs, businesses and their livelihood. Many are hopeless, frustrated and depressed. A few have been so overwhelmed with this economic turmoil that they have committed suicide.
Remember our verse for 2020,
Isaiah 60:1-2
Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.
Irrespective of what’s happening in the world, we have hope and our hope is in God’s word. If you are rooted and grounded in God’s word, you can never be hopeless. Even though you are in the world, you are not of the world. This means, you life is supposed to be different from the world. You are a child of God.
Colossians 1:13
For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son,
You no longer live under the authority and influence of Satan. You are have been transferred into the kingdom of Jesus Christ where Jesus is the King of kings.
Philippians 3:20
But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.
You are born in the Kingdom of Jesus and you are a citizen of the kingdom. No matter where you live on earth, you are a kingdom citizen living there.
John 3:3
Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
The word born again means born from above. You are born of God. Did you know that you have come from above? Yes! You are from another place called heaven. You are here for an assignment.
John 3:31
He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.
Always be conscious. Even though I am in India, I belong to the kingdom of Jesus and I am sent to India for a specific assignment.
John 20:21
So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
You are sent! Because Jesus has sent you, Jesus will take care of you. Your assignment is to expand the kingdom in your realm of influence by following the principles of the kingdom. In doing so, all things will be added to you. A believer can never be without a job, his job is to expand the kingdom.
Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
You can prosper right in the midst of financial famine because your prosperity is not based on the economy or on the government of your earthly country. Your prosperity is based on the economy of heaven – your provision and supply comes from heaven. This means you can prosper irrespective of how sick the economy of your earthly country is.
Colossians 3:2
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
Take your eyes away from the economy and the government of your earthly country and put your eyes on heaven. Abundance in the midst of famine. Surplus in the midst of scarcity. Plenty in the midst of lack. Let me share three examples from the Word – examples of abundance in the midst of serious famines.
1. Matthew 14 : 13-21
Jesus and His disciples were in a desert place with five thousand men, women and children. All they had was five loaves and two fishes. When heavenly economic system was activated, every single one of them ate until they were satisfied with twelve baskets of leftovers remaining.
2. Genesis 26 : 1 – 16
There was a famine in the land. But the Lord told Isaac to stay in the famine land. Isaac obeyed and began to sow in the land and in the same year reaped a hundred fold. He became great and very great in the midst of famine. Think about this, abundance in the midst of starvation. Hallelujah.
3. I Kings 17 : 8 – 16
There was famine in the land for it had not rained for many days. A widow and her son were about to have the last meal of their lives when Elijah, the man of God came to them with the word of God. She did what Elijah told her to do and gave the last meal to the man of God as per the direction of the Lord. By her act of obedience, the flour in her jar and the oil in her jug was supernaturally multiplied and they ate for many days. Hallelujah
All three events testify the greatness of our Father God. The Lord is well able to provide for you, prosper you right in the midst of famine, scarcity and lack. Let me share few keys that will activate the heavenly financial system so you can too can experience the abundance of God right in the midst of the economic famines of the world.
1. God is your Source.
Man and man-made institutions are not your Source. Nothing in all creation is your Source. God Almighty is your one and your only source. Man, man made institutions and all the creations of God are only the means or the mediums though which God meets yours needs, wants and desires. The Lord has a million ways of meeting your needs and you can’t think of three. He can bring water out of a rock. He can use a fish to pay tax. He can use winds to bring quails. He can use ravens to feed his servant. He can multiply the little and make it much. Look beyond the means, the channels and the mediums. Look to the Source, your one and only Source, Jesus Christ.
2. The only way you can receive from God is BY FAITH.
You know, Jesus went to his own village to give His people healing but he couldn’t heal them because they didn’t believe him. Faith is the only way you can receive from Jesus. There is no other way. This means you have to give yourself entirely to him, surrender yourself and commit yourself wholly to Him. Work on your receiving. The Word of God is faith food. Work on the word. Faith comes by hearing the Word. Work on your hearing. Faith is released by speaking the Word. Work on your speaking. As you do, your faith will rise and you will easily receive from your King.
3. Put pressure on your giving.
Giving is an expression of your faith in Jesus and your love for Him. When you are in famine, that’s not the time to hold back your giving. It’s time to put pressure on your giving. In all three events, we see giving was involved. The widow gave her meal to the man of God. The young boy gave his lunch of five loaves and two fishes to Jesus. Issac sowed his seed in the land of famine. Put pressure on your tithing. Put pressure on your sowing and reaping. Put pressure on your giving.
4. Put pressure on your thanksgiving.
In famine, many of the channels may have been dried up but Jesus is never dried up. He is your Source and He has more than a million ways and channels to bless you. Refuse to complain. Refuse to accuse and blame. Refuse to grumble. Choose to be thankful. Five loaves and two fishes are not sufficient to feed five thousand people but Jesus took it and thanked His Father for the provision. There was supernatural multiplication and every one was fed with twelve baskets of leftover. Gratitude attracts the attention of heaven.
As you apply these keys, you will position yourself to receive from your Lord Jesus Christ. When the world is struggling, you will be thriving and you will be able to reach and bless many people and lead them to Jesus. You will shine with the light and glory of God.
You are victorious in Christ!
