James 4:7
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
The understood subject is YOU. Imagine a traffic police officer who refuses to direct the traffic and enforce the rules of the road. Because of his negligence, there is a huge traffic jam, accidents take place resulting in complete chaos.
Instead of using His authority given to him by the government, He wonders who will come and do something. He looks up and says, Oh God, do something. He starts complaining, grumbling and accusing others including God and eventually gets frustrated and wants to quit living.
Sadly, this is the reality for many believers. The Word of God tells us, YOU must resist the devil. God is not going to resist the devil for you.
Many believers are waiting on God to do what God has commanded them to do.
Satan is tormenting so many believers with fear, sicknesses and with the fiery arrows of his lies, deceptions, accusations and slander. He is stealing their blessings and cunningly keeping them from enjoying the freedom that Christ purchased for every believer.
An ignorant believer hopes that somehow all this will somehow stop. He looks above and gets angry on God for not intervening in his life. Beloved, Jesus has given you His position, His authority and His power.
You are seated with Christ at God’s right hand, you have His resurrection power in you and you have His authority over all principality, power, might and dominion and every name that is named not only in this age but also in the one to come. You sit on Jesus’ seat.
Knowing who you are in Christ, what you have in Christ, who’s in you and who’s you are, you can step forward and resist the devil and all his forces. You don’t run away from the devil, you can run to the devil just like David ran towards Goliath and slew him.
Mark 16:17
And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons..
You have the name of Jesus. In His name, you have to cast out demons. You have to do it. You don’t have to request or beg the devil to go. You command him to leave. Satan, his demons and all his forces are defeated, they have no legal right to torment you.
I Peter 5:8-9
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
Whatever you refuse to resist, you accept. If you accept the attacks of the enemy and give him place, He will steal, kill and destroy. Resist him. Oppose him. Stand against him. Satan and whatever comes from his house must be resisted in the name of Jesus – all kinds of demons, fear, worries, sickness and diseases, curse and sin. Give him no place.
YOU resist the devil.
God bless you.
