Colossians 1:16-17
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
In the School of Prosperity, the number one key to prosper financially is to make Jesus your one and only Source.
Jesus is my One and Only Source.
This is so important for every believer. Some consider their companies and their employers as their Source. Some look to the government, the banks and other man made institutions as their Source. Some look to people, their parents, their children, their relatives, their clients, their church members as their Source.
Who’s your Source?
Whom are you looking to? This verse tells us; by Jesus, through Jesus and for Jesus were all things created. He is before all things and in Him all things are held together.
When you look to yourself, to man and to man made institutions, you will be disappointed and frustrated. Many times, we make the channels through which God blesses us as our Source. Look beyond the means and the channels that God uses to bless you. Look to the Source, Jesus!
Jeremiah 17:5-8
Thus says the Lord : “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord . For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord , And whose hope is the Lord . For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
As I write this, we are in the midst of a global pandemic. During these dark times, many people have lost their jobs as the economy of many countries have collapsed. But did you notice, even though the economy of many countries have dried up, the Lord did not dry up. When a believer does not know this, He will mourn and groan like the world who have no hope. Beloved, you are a child of God.
I Kings 17:6-9
The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook. And it happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land. Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.”
Ravens and the brook were just channels through which the Lord blessed Elijah. Notice, when the brook dried up, the Lord’s supply for Him didn’t dry up. When one channel dried up, the Lord opened another channel for His servant. All throughout the famine Elijah never missed a meal. We must come to place where we take our eyes away from the world, from ourselves and fix it on Jesus for He is our Shepherd. The Lord has millions of channels to bless you. Understand, Jesus is our Lord, our Shepherd, Our Vine and the Head of the church. He is responsible for us. Our prosperity is His responsibility. Our protection is His responsibility. We have a covenant with God Almighty in the blood of Jesus.
Think about the Israelites! When they were in the desert, how God provided for them and took care of them!
Nehemiah 9:21
Forty years You sustained them in the wilderness; They lacked nothing; Their clothes did not wear out And their feet did not swell.
God Almighty is your Source. He wants to take good care of you. He is well able to take good care of you. The Lord opened the rock and the waters gushed out for His people. He brought quails and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
When God is your Source, it doesn’t matter where you are geographically located, whether in a desert or in the midst of a famine, it doesn’t matter how the economy of your country is doing, it doesn’t matter how corrupt your government or employer is, the Lord will take care of you and He will do it really well. He will prepare for you a table right in the midst of your enemies. When you refuse to look at Jesus as your Source, you complain and grumble at what the government is doing, what the company is not doing, how the economy is failing….and all that. Live above that!
Matthew 10:7-10
And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food.
Jesus is sending His disciples for kingdom work and tells them not to take gold, silver or copper in their money belts. Why would He do that? Well, He is teaching them. Where He sends them, He will provide for them.
Luke 22:35-36
Jesus said to them, “When I sent you out without wallet, pack or shoes, were you ever short of anything?” “Not a thing,” they answered. “But now,” he said, if you have a wallet or a pack, take it; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your robe to buy one.
The disciples learnt their lesson. They understood Jesus is their Source. The Lord helped them take their eyes away from gold, silver, copper and fix it on Him and on the work He gave them to do. Once they got this revelation, Jesus said, ‘But now, you can carry those things.’
John 20:21
So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
You are a kingdom citizen and you are sent by Jesus Christ to fulfill your God ordained purpose. Because the Lord has sent you, the Lord will provide for you and take care of you.
His provision is always in His vision. His will is His bill.
No matter where God has sent you, No matter which country it is, no matter how the economy of that country is, be busy in fulfilling your God given assignment. As your Shepherd and Head, Jesus guides, leads, protects and provides for you through His voice. Be sensitive to His voice. Hear. Follow. You will never lack. The Lord told Isaac to stay in Gerar, the land of famine. He obeyed. He sowed in the land of famine and reaped in the same year hundred fold and became exceedingly wealthy.
The Lord will take care of you. The Lord is well able to take care of you. He has done it before. He will do it again. You may not be able to think of the various channels that the Lord can use but He has many channels to bless you and prosper you.
Keep your eyes on Jesus!
Keep your eyes on the work He has given you!
Love people!
God bless you.
