The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10
Satan is a thief and according to Jesus, the thief only comes to steal, to kill and to destroy. Nothing else! Notice the order – to steal, to kill and to destroy. The enemy begins by stealing. What does He want to steal?
Knowing how the enemy works will help you be on guard. You won’t allow Satan to deceive and trap you. So what does He want to steal?
The sower sows the word. And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. Mark 4:14-15
Satan is after the word. Satan wants to steal the word from your mouth and your spirit. Notice Jesus said, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. If Satan can successfully steal the word from you, He has stolen everything from you.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. John 1:1-3
All things were made through the Word. No wonder Satan is after the word. His primary target is not your health, your family or your wealth. His primary target is the word. If He can steal the word, He has stolen everything. If He can keep you away from the Word, He will keep you away from every blessing and miracle.
Now when they had gone through the island to Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew whose name was Bar-Jesus, who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. This man called for Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God. But Elymas the sorcerer (for so his name is translated) withstood them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith.
Acts 13:6-8
whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
II Corinthians 4:4
There are spirits working to keep people away from the word of God. Your ignorance is their strength. As long as a believer is ignorant of the word of God, He is in slavery to the devil. As long as you are ignorant, Satan and his demons are strong. An ignorant believer is a weak believer. An ignorant believer is a slave. An ignorant believer will be destroyed.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. Hosea 4:6
Why are my people destroyed? Is it because the enemy is strong? Is it because the pandemic is severe and the virus is deadly? Is it because the government is corrupt? No! My people are destroyed because they have no knowledge of God through His Word. Your ignorance is your destruction. No wonder Satan wants to keep you away from the word and steal it from you.
Therefore my people have gone into captivity, Because they have no knowledge; Their honorable men are famished, And their multitude dried up with thirst. Isaiah 5:13
Why does Satan want to steal the word? Because he wants to keep you in captivity. Lack of word knowledge will keep you in captivity. This tells me if you know the word and live according to it, you will never be in captivity. Hallelujah to the Lamb of God.
One day, the Lord spoke to me in my study and said, ‘Protect the Word and the Word will protect you.’ Don’t allow Satan to steal the word from your mouth and spirit. The Word will make you fruitful by destroying all forms of barrenness in your life. The Word is the beginning of all miracles in your life. The Word will keep you from destruction and protect you from all forms of captivity.
Value the Word. Take God’s Word seriously. The Word of God is the greatest treasure of your life. Go after the Word. Pursue the Word. Remember all things were made through the Word. Your freedom is in the Word. Your prosperity is in the Word. Your glory is in the Word. Your greatness is in the Word. Live in the Word of God.
You are victorious in Christ!
