“Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?” But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ” And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.””
Notice what Jesus said, “Daughter your faith has made you well.” Her faith made her whole. Well what was the beginning of her faith? What was the first step of her faith? How did her faith begin? Let see these few verses again.
“Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment.” Mark 5:25-27
She heard about Jesus! This is the beginning – the first step of faith. Faith begins where the will of God is known. Once you know what God wants and what God desires, you can begin your faith. Remember your faith is in God. The focus of faith is Jesus Christ. He is the Supplier and you are the Receiver. Once you know the will of God – His desire or what He wants, you will have no difficulty in receiving.
Faith begins where the will of God is known.
When you don’t know what God wants or desires, you will struggle in your receiving. I am glad that this woman heard what God’s will is for her concerning healing. Once she came to know what God wants, her faith rose up and took her healing from the Master Supplier, Jesus Christ.
“Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.” Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.”” Mark 1:40-41
This leper knew Jesus can make Him clean. But His concern was whether Jesus would make him clean. He had doubts concerning the will of God. When you don’t know what is God’s will, your faith cannot begin. There will be struggle in your faith. But Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him and said, I am willing, be cleansed. The moment the leper came to know that his cleansing was the will of Jesus, he quickly received his wholeness. Remember, faith begins where the will of God is known.
Without knowing the will of God, faith has no certainty and stability. Without knowing the will of God, faith has no specific direction. Without knowing the will of God, the steps of faith will not be firm. Faith doesn’t begin with assumptions. Faith begins where the will of God is known.
Knowing the will of God
In order to live and walk by faith, you must know the will of God. The written word of God is the will of God. You can know the heart, the thoughts and the desires of God – what God wants – through His written Word – the Bible. Without the Bible – the written word of God, you will never know the will of God. The written word of God is the will of God.
In order to have an effective faith, you must know your Bible well. Once you start studying your Bible, you will know what God wants. Once you know what God wants, you can direct your faith in that direction. Faith will not work outside of God’s will. Faith will not work contrary to God’s will. Faith will not work in ignorance of God’s will. Faith and God’s will cannot be separated- it is inseparable.
Make yourself available and submit to the teachings of God’s word and also make sure you spend quality time studying God’s written word. You will know exactly what God wants. You will be established in the will of God. Your faith will begin to rise up and take everything that belongs to you.
From the word, you will know for sure that healing is God’s will for you, your faith will rise up and take it. The Word will reveal to you that financial prosperity is God’s will for his children, your faith will rise up and take it. The Word will reveal to you that all surpassing peace is God’s will for you, once you know it then faith will rise up on the inside of you and make it available for you. Find out what is God’s will and by faith take it. Faith begins where the will of God is known.
Satan wants you to be ignorant of God’s will. If you choose to be ignorant, you will remain in captivity and bondage. The woman with the issue of blood, the moment she heard about Jesus, faith rose up in her. Refuse to be ignorant. Make yourself aware of God’s will. Your faith will rise up. You will never be a victim of Satan anymore.
You are victorious in Christ.
