Acts 20:32
“So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
God’s word is full of God’s life and power therefore it has the ability to build you up. This verse talks about spiritual development. Remember, you are a spirit being, you possess a soul and you live in a human body. When you got born again, your spirit was recreated and became a new creation possessing eternal life.
I Peter 2:2
as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,
As you feed on God’s word, the Word will cause your spirit to grow and become strong. You cannot grow physically without food. You cannot grow spiritually without the Word for the Word Of God is spirit food.
Matthew 4.4
But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
Bread feeds your body and the Word feeds your spirit. You must desire to grow spiritually. A believer who refuse to grow spiritually will be carnal – a believer who is worldly and is ruled by his physical senses. The Bible calls carnal believers as babes. Babies won’t and can’t do much for God’s kingdom. Refuse to be a spiritual babe. Choose to grow.
Remember, the only defence you have against the massive deception of these last days is to be established in the rightly divided word of truth.
II Timothy 2.15
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
It’s not enough to know the Word but you must know the rightly divided word of truth. Understand, if the Word can be rightly divided then it can also be wrongly divided. When you eat the rightly divided word of truth, your eating will be beneficial to your spirit. You know, if you eat junk food, there is no benefit to your body. So when you eat, you must eat right.
The entire Bible is written for the believer but the New Covenant, especially the epistles are written to the believer. There are portions of scriptures that are talking to Jews, some to the Gentiles and others to the church. We can learn from the entire Bible but to eat the rightly divided word of truth would mean to feed on and establish yourself in those passage of scriptures that are written to the body of Christ, the Church. Praise God!
That’s the word of His grace – which I call as the New Covenant and the In Christ Realities. What has his grace accomplished. Study on….
- Who is Jesus Christ?
- What has Christ done for you? Study His love.
- What is Christ doing in you right now?
- What is Jesus doing in heaven right now?
- Who are you in Christ?
- What do you have in Christ?
- What can you do in Christ?
This is your food and as you feed on this, you will grow and become strong. A believer with a strong spirit can overcome all the attacks of the enemy, will fulfill his God given purpose and at the same time, be a blessing to many people.
As you study the epistles, write down every In Christ scripture, meditate on it and declare it from your mouth every single day of your life. As you do it sincerely, the Holy Spirit will give you deep insight into the love of the Father and the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Spirit of truth will make these realitie real to you and you will become one with it.
If you know who you really are, it will be easy for you to walk accordingly. Keep building yourself in God’s Word and walk in the eternal victory Jesus has purchased for you with His precious blood.
Shalom!
